Hurricane Sandy pushing massive waves off the coast of North Carolina. High tide was two hours away, and the water was way past where high tide normally reaches. Waves crashed over the top of the pier.

Though Hurricane Sandy is in fact a Cat 1 Hurricane, here in NC we are seeing Tropical Storm weather and are on a Tropical Storm Watch.
She is expected to make landfall between Maryland and Southern New England.
Expected day she is to make landfall, the night of Monday, October 29 or Tuesday, October 30 2012.
She is 650 miles across.
