Little Angel by cheslah Little Angel by cheslah
"Kimberly Ann. Daughter of C.P. and Shirley Ann Compton.
Born and Died May 12, 1960.
Our Little Angel."

I can't imagine giving birth and losing a child all in the same day. I spent some time fixing the grave up a little bit after I photographed it.

:pointr:Prospect Cemetery, Ogden, North Carolina:pointl:
:bulletpurple: The cemetery is 6.5 acres located where Military Cutoff Rd meets with US 17 in Ogden, North Carolina.
:bulletpurple: It's not groundskept, which is a shame because there are so many military graves and so many old graves.
:bulletpurple: The cemetery is constantly threatened by land development.

The bokeh behind the headstone is stunning. It seems to add emotion to the picture with the headstone itself being in the shadows.

The first thing this made me think of was the true story told in The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans. If you've read it, you'll understand why.

Thank you for sharing this.

I've never read it, but I'll see about getting my hands on it.

A photo with indescribable /at least for me/ emotional impact. The story it tells isn't happy at all, but the photo itself is great /especially loved the light and the way it shines on the flower/
