This is my very first real camera. Not counting the millions of disposable ones I burned through. This is a Canon AE-1. A film camera. Yes, he still works. He's taken all the pictures in my 2006, 2007, and 2008 folders here on DA. I still use him, there's a roll in him right now.

Check out some of his work!

I shot this in a lightbox I made yesterday! :D

I own one of these as well! My first was a Yashica!

The film camera I used most was a Nikon FG with Vivitar Series 1 lenses. It took a hard fall, but I still have it for sentimental reasons I guess.

I would have cried so hard if I dropped any of my cameras! :(

Yeah, I didn't want to touch another one for a long time. Actually, I haven't done film since then. (I didn't drop it. It was accidentally smashed by someone else)

That person would have had a few bodily injuries if that was my camera

I took photography in high school. I seriously fell in love with it.
Then I got in a stupid accident toward the end of the year. Left my camera at school under lock and key with the teacher. Someone dropped it... I tried to take photography the next year, but sadly homebound wouldn't allow it and my stupid light meter broke when that idiot dropped my camera. It had me so angry for so long. That camera was over $400. It's difficult to do film considering I'm always in a financial bind, but I have my eyes on a digital SLR...

I think it was a Cannon Eos Rebel? I stopped looking at it because I got depressed because I can't afford that at all until like next year.

My photography 1 camera was a Nikon. I think a N-44? I loved it...
Which camera would you exactly recommend? This one looks nice, but I know the one for 479.99 would be more reasonable price wise.

I use this one. [link] But it's probably way out of your price range. I bought it BEFORE I had kids, so I'm in the same boat as you.
So, I think I'd recommend this one, [link]
It comes with the body and a lens.
